The Michiana Junior Golf Tour (MJGT) is a tour for junior golfers between the ages of 8 -19 as long as you have not started College..We welcome any junior player from any state in the union. The format is individual stroke play in all events except for one tournament. This one event will be a pick your own partner in your age group and compete in a best ball format. Elcona C.C. - Monday July 31st. Girls playing High School Golf please have your Athletic Director send in a waiver for any tournaments after July 28th. You may have two waivers per player. This is an easy process that your coach can handle for you.
This year the MJGT will have a Draft Party / Orientation on Sunday May 21st @ 2 pm. Location is South Bend Country Club banquet room.The Draft Party will consist of: 1) the top point leaders in each age group from 2016 will Captain a team in 2017 and draft their players at the party; 2) any junior golfers that did not compete on the tour in 2016 will be invited to the party and will be drafted as a rookie player; 3) any players that join the tour later will be put on a team the week they enter their first event.
MJGT will keep points each week for players finishing 1st - 3rd in each age group. The players with the most points at the end of the season will qualify for the Cup Match Team.. Each junior player that wins a tournament in their age group will qualify for the Tournament of Champions at the end of the year.
Registration deadline for each tournament is 5 days in advance. Please register for each event by clicking the “Registration” tab.
When signing up for the two player best ball Tournament make sure you put both last names - first names - ages in the same boxes. We will need only one email and one cell # for this one Tournament. If you do not have a partner please let John know. If we can't find you a partner you can still compete in your age group individually.
Players age 10-18 will be responsible for keeping their own hole by hole score. For players age 8-9, Parents will help keep score.
All players may either carry their clubs or use a push cart. Caddies will be allowed in all Tournaments
Spectators may not give advice to any players during the round.
Proper golf attire will be mandatory at each tournament. No jeans, cut-offs, or sweatpants will be allowed. Shirts with a collar are required.
There is a No Show Policy this year. A player who registers for an event and does not show will be charged the entry fee for the no show at their following event. A no-show player will not qualify for the year end Tournament of Champions , Cup Match, awards or prizes. This policy will be strictly enforced and there will be no exceptions.
